Three “flashing and dancing” days as UHD/HDR supervisor on behalf of BET Base of Expert Training | Michael Mücher for RTL Deutschland and the MMC Studios Köln GmbH working on the production of “Let’s Dance” in Cologne.
2026 is a special year for Let’s Dance, the German version of the BBC original format “Strictly Come Dancing”. For five years in a row now: successful production of stunning images in Ultra High Definition, High Dynamic Range and Wide Colour Gamut!
Just like in previous years, our production is once again a single stream UHD/HDR workflow in PQ/WCG. Cameras, replays and graphics deliver native UHD/HDR/WCG images. Closed Loop Shading and Closed Loop Lighting are implemented: dual monitoring of SDR and HDR at all positions in the vision gallery as well as for lighting at FOH.
A spot-on technical setup for such a lighting driven show! We are celebrating great pictures and giving ourselves the best birthday present.
When it comes to dancing, HDR/WCG in UHD is the only option. This is the formula to make magic happen: So much detail, so many (specular) highlights and so much colour. That’s why the format is in best hands with the Magic Media Company 🚀.
And by the way… Best support act: the lighting-FOH-espresso bar 😎.
It was a lot of fun again. Many thanks to the entire MMC team as well as the lighting team around David Kreilemann for the great cooperation. Let’s celebrate the magnificent pictures for the entire series 💃🏼🕺🏽.
